It’s going to be an exciting summer in Hong Kong for plant lovers. From omakase to dim sum to pizza, vegans are spoilt for choice as chefs across the city devote their culinary prowess to serving the planet and hungry vegan bellies. In our bi-monthly column about all things plant-based dining in Hong Kong, we highlight the best in new menus, openings and more for all you hungry herbivores. Posto Pubblico Announces New Menu With Vegan Pizza & Impossible Balls

OG farm-to-table Soho eatery Posto Pubblico now features a wide range of dedicated vegan dishes including hits like the Eggplant Bolognese, Impossible Foods Balls and Banana Nutella Ice-Cream. They even have a new vegan Pizza Puttanesca made with Grassroots Pantry 14-Day Aged Cashew Parmesan and Home Cultured Burrata. This is one chef collab we are seriously excited about.

Japanese Vegetarian Cafe Years Lands in Sham Shui Po

New kid on the block Years brings some much-needed veggie love to Sham Shui Po with its plant-forward Japanese-style concept. Think Japanese set lunches, tempura udon and Omnipork katsu sandos along with more Western cafe fare like Impossible penne and Portobello Mushroom burgers.

Dragon-i Debuts All You Can Eat Vegan Dim Sum Menu

Our herbivore prayers have been answered! You can now stuff your face at yum cha SANS meat. In collaboration with Green Monday, faithful Central lunch spot Dragon-i now features a dedicated vegan menu with all your dim sum favorites from cheung fan to spring rolls to every dumpling in between with many of the dishes featuring plant pork alternative Omnipork. Tried and tested by yours truly, this is an all-you-can-eat winner. PS- they also have a new vegan dinner menu that we can’t wait to try.

Trendy New Izakaya Silencio Showcases Vegan Tasting Menu

Chef Sean Mell (of Nobu fame) is well known for his exquisite Japanese omakase, but did you know the new izakaya also offers vegetarian and vegan tasting menus? Throw in the gorgeous decor and some live jazz and it’s the perfect new plant-based celebration spot. Tip: make sure to book the vegan omakase in advance.

Acai Superstar Supabowl Now in Soho

No one does açaí smoothie bowls quite like Supabowl so it’s not surprise that they have expanded from their Wan Chai origins to the wellness heavy environs of Soho in Central so BYOBowl and nourish yo-self with their refreshing, delicious berry goodness.

New Hung Hom gem Seven Days offers homestyle vegan cafe fare to Kowloon dwellers with reasonable prices (the vegan lunch is HK$ 48) and an ever changing menu showcasing global cuisines with lots of mock meats- think Vietnamese noodle soup and Indonesian BBQ.

London-based California-inspired cafe Avobar of avocado burger fame is planning to open its premium healthy cafe in a Kowloon mall in the next few months. Not many details to share on this one at the moment but we will be sure to update you once we know more.

Infiniti C Vol. 2 Hits The ‘Pun

Boutique vegan-friendly coffee spot Infiniti C is opening its second shop in everyone’s favourite hipster hood Sai Ying Pun this month. Expect more of their tried & tested hits including a killer turmeric latte made with homemade cashew milk, veggie-forward sandwiches and gluten-free desserts.
