Kids4Kids is a unique charity concept: get kids to volunteer in their communities and help other kids. What’s more inspiring than that? Below, some background on this great charity!
How was kids4kids started?
Kids4Kids started in 2008 with an idea that when kids feel empowered into action, they can learn to make a difference with their passion and talents, even from a young age.
What is the mission of kids4kids?
Our mission is to inspire, enable and engage young people to take action through service, in their community today and in the future. No matter what their background, through our learning and volunteering programs, we know our kids will become active citizens who initiate change and contribute to the betterment of their community.
What is kids4kids’ geographical focus?
We mainly focus on Hong Kong because we believe kids can only become responsible global citizens by first making a difference in their local community. We do however collaborate with overseas charity partners who share the passion with us, for example the Ushers’ New Look Foundation in the US. In the past, we have collaborated with a school in Yunnan in China for a project where we brought along our youth volunteers to help renovate the classrooms.
What are kids4kids’ goals for Hong Kong specifically?
We have no blueprint for how to help. Rather, we want kids to take that first step to get involved- therefore, our goal is to provide opportunities to kids from all backgrounds to discover their talents, become creative problem solvers and engage in volunteer programs.
How can Hong Kongers get involved with kids4kids?
Getting involved with Kids4Kids can take many forms. Those who contribute their passion and talents to improve the lives of others will also benefit from their own actions. It really depends on how one wants to get involved, we welcome kids as well as adults & professionals to become story tellers, story writers, project owners, volunteer leaders and if someone has a special idea to benefit the community, they can apply for our DIY Service Grant to bring that idea to life!
