Health and fitness is Hong Konger’s obsession du jour and finding the perfect workout can feel like a search for the holy grail. But with so many studios, workouts and classes it can be overwhelming. Cycling or cross fit? Barre or pilates? And what about boxing? So many choices- almost too many. But never fear, Green Queen has pulled together our pick of the best boutique fitness studios in Hong Kong. Core Focus: Get Long & Lean

Flex Studio

With a class for everyone, and state-of-the-art equipment Flex Studio offers both private training and group classes in Pilates, yoga, barre, GYROTONICs, FlexKids for children, as well as Physical Therapy. They also have a retail area where they stock Lululemon and skin care products.

Pricing: Group classes range from HKD 245-260, semi-private Pilates sessions are HKD 410 and private training sessions are HKD 880 for an hour with discounts for packages available.

Barre 2 Barre offers the Bar Method, yoga and Pilates mat classes. Their barre classes are offered for a variety of levels and range from the more traditional barre regimes to ones that incorporate HIIT and Tabata principles.

Try Core+’s brand new Thailates, an awesome combination of pilates & Muay Thai- expect a cardio AND a strength workout. Torq Cycle

With a variety of spinning classes including TORQHit, TORQdeHK and TORQCore, Torq Cycle is sure to get your heart pumping and your legs burning. They are more than just a stationary bike, Torq Cycle incorporates elements of yoga, Pilates and boxing to give you a full body workout. They even have a teen class program. Bonus: Torq Cycle tracks all of your stats from each class which you can access online to view your progress.

Pricing: A single class is HKD 250. Discounts are offered for packages and monthly passes.

Booking: You must register for the site to book classes, but you can then use their online booking system, which even lets you reserve your bike so you can hide in the back or show your stuff in the front.

XYZ

Offering a unique spin on cycling (sorry could not help it!) XYZ‘s classes such as Grow Young and Born to Move will leave you pumped and feeling great. XYZ also takes great pride in their playlists which you can find on their site and follow on Spotify.

Pricing: A single class is HKD 350, with a trial ride for HKD 270. Discounts are offered for packages and special promotional packages are sometimes available.

Booking: You must register for the site to book classes, but you can then use their online booking system which also lets you reserve your bike.

Kicking Butt The MMA Way

Sitpinyo

Founded by trainer and Muay Thai fighter Gary Carter,  Sitpinyo is a Muay Thai, boxing, and strength training gym offering Muay Thai group classes and personal training. They also feature a variety of Muay Thai and boxing equipment for purchase.

Pricing: A single group class is HKD 150 for lunchtime and HKD 200 for evening classes, with discounts for packs of 10 classes. Personal training is also available with price varying by instructor, but starts at HKD 650 per session and as a bonus feature you can bring a guest for only HKD 100 or HKD 150 per person, see site for details.

Mindful Wing Chun

Mindful Wing Chun is a Wing Chun club offering private, shared privates and group classes in Wing Chun and Chi Sau, as well as Kung Fu classes for children. Wing Chun is a  type of Chinese martial arts practiced by none other than Hong Kong’s very own Bruce Lee. Bonus: Mindful Wing Chun’s website also offers video lessons for free.

Pricing: They offer a free trial class, but they do not do individual classes. Instead classes are sold in month blocks. They do have individual private classes for HKD 900 with packages offered at a discount rate.

Jab MMA

Jab offers a variety of martial art styles including boxing, Brazilian Jujitsu, MMA, and No Gi submission grappling. They offer group classes as well as private training sessions. Jab also offers Trigenics, a form of manual therapy as well as BioSignature Modulation, a technique that seeks to understand hormonal imbalances.

Pricing: They offer one free trial class and then classes are HKD 250 with many different discounts and package options available. Private training sessions start at HKD 750 with discounts available for packages.
